She began her career in 1993 when she was cast on the second season of MTV’s hit reality show ‘The Real World: Los Angeles’. She became the first person to have an abortion on reality television during the season.

After that, she made her appearances in the TV series ‘Married… with Children'(1993), ‘Silk Stalkings’ (1994), ‘The Parkers’ (2000), ‘Sex, Love & Secrets’ (2005), ‘Moonlight’ (2008).

In 2010 Tami Roman was cast in the reality TV series ‘Basketball Wives” until it’s ended in 2013. In 2017 Basketball Wives was revived and she returned as the cast and also acted in TV series Belle’s (2013), Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars (2015), Basketball Wives LA (2015-2016), Tales (2017), The Family Business (2018), among others.

She portrayed minor roles in Hair Show (2004), South of Pico (2007), Fall Girls (2019), etc. It was announced in June 2019 that Roman and husband Reggie Youngblood would get new spin-off series titled ‘Tami Ever After’.
