Love is in the air for Lewis Capaldi and his new love interest Ellie MacDowell. The couple attended the 2023 BRITs Awards afterparty together on Saturday night which confirmed their relationship.

Some sources who were present at the party said that the singer, 26, was all over his lover, 23, as they showed some PDA at 180 The Strand during the bash.

They also flirted before hitting the dancefloor together and enjoyed each other’s company to bits.

The source confirmed,

”It’s official, Lewis is in love and he couldn’t be happier.”

The couple who had been secretly dating for months tried to keep their relationship out of the spotlight. But now it seems that they chose to let everyone know about their romance.

‘He has been dating Ellie for some time now and while they are usually very low key, he couldn’t keep his hands off her at the after-party. It was very sweet to see him so happy, and Ellie clearly adores him too.’

The couple decided to go official after Capaldi faced an embarrassing moment on the stage at the BRITs. As she was set to perform his single Forget Me, the show’s host Mo Gilligan introduced him as Sam Capaldi.

The lovers have been going strong ever since they announced their love to the world. They are now Instagram official with  Ellie even posting snaps and videos of the Before You Go singer on her account.

Capaldi struggled to find real love before Ellie

Ellie and Lewis first sparked dating rumors when they attended a dinner date together in the early hours of last November.

An actress by profession, MacDowell is all set to play Cary Grant‘s daughter Jennifer in Archie, an upcoming biopic.

Last month, Capaldi revealed that he faced struggled to find true love despite being a famous person.

The Forget Me hitmaker talked to Sam Thompson saying he thought stardom would help him find a girl who loves him but has not been lucky in love at all.

The singer said,

‘First of all, when I was younger – and I’ve never been the most classically good-looking man – I used to get told if you play music girls will like you.’

‘So, I basically learned how to play guitar, shaped my whole personality around the fact that I could play music, got famous and I’m like here we go!’

Capaldi added,

‘I wonder what Victoria’s Secret model I’m going to have on my arm, what beautiful, intelligent, incredibly famous musician or actress I’m going to attract, and I can honestly say not one person has slid into my DMs in a romantic way. I feel like I’ve been cheated.’

Lewis dated a student named Catherine Halliday in the past.
