Apparently, there’s a rumor swirling around about Zendaya joining the cast of Stranger Things season 5. This isn’t the first time an actress has been rumored to be joining the Stranger Things cast. In 2021, He’s All That star Addison Rae was rumored to be making an appearance in the fourth season of the science fiction series, but nothing came of the rumor. It was simply a fan of hers claiming she’ll be in the show with no concrete evidence to back it up. Now in 2022, people are once again claiming that Rae will be in the fifth and final season, but nothing has been confirmed.

As much as we loved to see the incredibly talented actress join the Stranger Things cast in the fifth and final season, it’s just not happening. Sadly, Zendaya will not make an appearance in the fifth installment. It’s just another rumor that has no evidence to back it up.

The rumor started from a fan of the show and Zendaya on TikTok. According to HITC, a TikTok user with the handle @baconwithsyruppp posted a TikTok on July 12, with text claiming that Zendaya will be in the fifth season. The exact text reads, “The Duffer Brothers just confirmed Zendayas gunna (going to be) in stranger things 5.” The video has reached over 500k views. Naturally, the comment section on the TikTok video is filled with a bunch of fans expressing their excitement.

However, neither Netflix nor the Duffer Brothers have confirmed this rumor. Another reason why we’re certain Zendaya won’t be in Stranger Things season 5 is because the Duffer Brothers recently announced that there wouldn’t be any new characters in the final season. So this basically debunks the Addison Rae and Zendaya casting rumors.

Don’t fret, though. Addison Rae has a multi-movie deal with Netflix, so we should see her in a new project soon. Also, Zendaya is always booked and busy. We’ll see her next in the movies Challengers and Dune: Part Two.
