The Notebook, a film based on the Nicholas Sparks novel of the same name, is undoubtedly one of the greatest romantic dramas ever made and tells a deeply heartwrenching story of how love conquers all that is always a top-tier choice for date night.

The Nick Cassavetes directed movie stars Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams as a young couple who fall in love in the 1940s but have their relationship torn apart because of their different social classes. This heartfelt tale is told in the present day by an elderly man played by James Garner, who is reading the story to a fellow nursing home resident played by the director’s mother, Gena Rowlands.

The Notebook has received serval impressive accolades, including its lead characters being part of Entertainment Weekly’s 100 Greatest Characters of the Last 20 Years and US Weekly’s 30 Most Romantic movies of all time.
