Sir Michael Caine CBE is an English actor with a career spanning seven decades. He is known for his distinctive Cockney Irish-like accent.

He has received various awards including two Academy Awards, a BAFTA Award, three Golden Globe Awards, and a Screen Actors Guild Award. In 2000, he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth for his contribution to British films.

Caine was born Maurice Joseph Micklewhite on 14 March 1933. His first film was a 1956 war drama, A Hill in Korea.

He also starred in BBC television series like The Golden Girl and No Wreath for the General, Next Time I’ll Sing To You, and The Magus. Caine won his first Academy Award for the 1986 film Hannah and Her Sisters and his second Academy Award in 1999 for The Cider House Rules.
