Lessons in Chemistry takes us to the 1960s. We get a chance to see Elizabeth Zott, a chemist who ends up fired and forced to find something else to do with her life. Who would have thought that she could use her chemistry to create a popular cooking show on TV?

The series gives us a look at Elizabeth’s life before the show and the life that she lives now. We see how she connects to her audience, and there’s a chance to see how the audience connects to her, grabbing their notebooks out to write down everything they learn. They’re not just learning about cooking, but about science too.

We start with some bad news. This is not a show that’s on Netflix, and it’s highly unlikely that it will come to Netflix.

This is an Apple TV+ Original series. So far, the first two episodes are available to stream. You can then watch the rest of the series weekly on Fridays. There’s no need for Apple TV+ to share content with Netflix, and there are no signs that would be needed as Apple hasn’t removed original content from its platform.

Brie Larson takes on the lead role of Elizabeth Zott. She is outstanding as the character we got a great idea of from Bonnie Garmus’s writing. Lewis Pullman plays Calvin Evans, a renowned chemist, who forms a bond with Elizabeth in more ways than one.
