If you’re watching the final season of American Idol, you know the name Tristan McIntosh. She’s one of the final contestants on the hit reality show, and one of the final few hopefuls to be named the last ever American Idol winner. Her voice is amazing; and she’s clearly talented. Despite what we see of her personal life and her personality on television every week, though, we really know very little about the young girl who wowed Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr. and Keith Urban. All three judges fell madly in love with her the moment she opened her mouth to sing her first song during her first audition, and all three voted her into Hollywood. There was no doubt in any of their minds that she is a star, and we cannot help but agree with them. That said, we want to know more about this young, talented singer. We know you do, too.

She’s only 15

Tristan McIntosh might have the most amazing voice you’ve heard in a long time, but she’s young. She’s 15-years-old and she is but a sophomore in high school. She’s not old enough to drive, she cannot vote, and she is taking the world by storm. Even if she doesn’t win Idol, she’s got a long, amazing career ahead of her. Her raw talent is so much more than you expect from someone this age, and she is a stunning singer.

Her mother is an Army Major

Tristan McIntosh knows what it’s like to move around, to have to leave her friends and to live life wherever it might take you. This could prove good for her if she does become a famous singer who tours the world and has to live here and there and everywhere in between for months at a time. Her mother is an Army Major, and her job takes them all over the world. Just before her daughter went to audition for the show, she was called overseas to serve. However, someone managed to pull some strings and get her mother, Amy, home to see her daughter audition and even hand her the golden ticket to Hollywood. It was an emotional moment, but her mother had to go shortly after that.

She’s musical all over the place

Her mother recognized her talent when she was all of 8-years-old, and it’s proven valuable information. She knew her daughter could sing, and she took her to see a vocal coach when she was only 10. That coach saw the potential in Tristan and began working with her to hone her talents. However, singing is not the only thing she’s good at. It turns out that she is also quite talented when it comes to other music. She plays the mandolin, the trumpet and the guitar. She’s 15 and she’s about a million times more talented than I, and I was 18 when she was born!

She’s modest

The people who know Tristan McIntosh are more than just a little proud of their hometown hero. She is everything to them, and she is a star. She is modest, and she does not flaunt her singing abilities and her talent. Her friends, family, former teachers and fellow students talk about how kind she is, how much of a talent she is and what a normal, modest young woman she really is. That says a lot about her, and these people clearly adore her and all she stands for.

She’s learning from the best

What makes Tristan McIntosh very special is that she’s been in Tennessee for a while. Despite her mother’s career and the fact that she moved around a lot before, she has been in Nashville for many years. That means she’s been exposed to some of the most amazing music, talent and sheer force that you could imagine. It’s one of the most amazing places to visit if you’re looking to break into music, learn about music or just enjoy the talents of people who have not yet made it big.
