Arjun Erigaisi is an Indian chess grandmaster who was born on September 3, 2003, in Warangal, Telangana, India. Arjun Erigaisi currently is the reigning Indian national chess champion. Indian Arjun Erigaisi is the first grandmaster to come from Telangana’s Hanumakonda (Warangal).
Arjun Erigaisi became a grandmaster at the age of 14 years, 11 months, and 13 days, making him the 32nd-youngest grandmaster to ever hold the title. He is the 54th grand master in India and the fifth from the Telugu states.
In August 2018, he attained grandmaster status. He also took home a silver medal from the Asian Youth Championship in Korea in 2015. Arjun is a Shine High School graduate.
In August 2022, Arjun won the 28th Abu Dhabi International Chess Festival with 7.5/9 and a performance rating of 2893.
