Liam Hemsworth was born on the 13th of January 1990 to an English Teacher Leonie and a social service counselor Craig Hemsworth in Melbourne, Australia. When Liam was just 8 years, his family moved from Melbourne to Philip Island, it is a small island southeast of Melbourne.

During Liam’s stay on the island, he spent most of his time surfing. In the year 2009, in the month of March Liam moved to the United States to pursue his acting career in acting with his brother, Chris Hemsworth, the pair initially stayed with William Ward who happened to be Chris’s manager, and then after some time, they moved to their own rented apartment in Los Angeles. Liam has starred in movies since his debut as a guest appearance in shows Home and Away and then McLeod’s daughters, in the same year of his debut he played Josh Taylor in the Australian soap opera Neighbours.
