Just call her Countess, please; Luann de Lesseps prefers to go by her direct title, though as she makes plans to wed her husband-to-be she will no longer be the countess. We adore her and her over-the-top mannerisms, and we will certainly miss watching her tell her friends, acquaintances and every single other person who has ever addressed her in any way, shape or form to refer to her as Countess Luann rather than just as Luann. Her friends call her Countess, and that’s how she likes it. She’s one of the famous real housewives from New York City, and some people love her, other people hate her and some people aren’t sure why she seems to grow on them after a time. Either way, she’s fantastic and we thought we’d get to know Luann de Lesseps just a bit better before she’s no longer the Countess.

She’s got a celebrity crush

If Luann de Lesseps could pick any man in the world to have a fling with, it would be Hugh Grant. He’s her celebrity crush, and she adores him. I find that quite interesting considering his former reputation and his past history with women, but you cannot deny a handsome man no matter how hard you try. Sometimes you just like to look and you would not actually touch.

She loves California

If Luann de Lesseps could be any other housewife, she’d head straight to Beverly Hills and join ranks with those women. She loves the area and has no issue being there to support herself and her friends. It’s one of her favorite places in the world, even though she is a through and through city girl at heart.

She does like Bethenny

Some people feel that Bethenny Frankel is an unlikable person. I, personally, adore her. She’s got her fair share of human issues, like the rest of us, and she’s funny. She’s quick and she’s sarcastic and she has not one problem standing up for herself. She’s made it big in life and people don’t like that, but Luann finds her to be very clever and very much a lot of fun.

She knows money cannot buy you everything

Countess Luann has had plenty of money most all of her life, but she knows that while it might fill a beautiful closet with beautiful designer items, it cannot buy you either class or real friends. Having money doesn’t mean people like you. In fact, she knows it means exactly the opposite in many instances. She’s aware of that and she’s not ashamed of that fact.

She’s not above bashing a friend

The one thing about so many women is that cattiness is a thing. Even when we try very hard not to allow it to get to us, we sometimes find ourselves saying things we should not say. Even the Countess has that issue. When she was upset with her friend Bethenny, she pointed out in an interview that she heard Bethenny was trying to pursue a married man. Not just any married man, either; one that’s married to one of her good friends. It was a low-blow and we have a sneaking suspicion that Luann is not all that proud of herself for allowing that comment to make it out of her mouth and into the press.

She’s a health nut

Luann de Lesseps knows that as you get older, you have to be a lot more careful with your body. Things don’t just fall back in line the way they might have when you were in your 20s or 30s, and that means choosing good health on a regular basis. She loves to be healthy, to indulge in things that do her body good, provide her with energy and make her feel as if she can take on the day.

She loves steak

Even the biggest health nuts in the world cannot forgo their favorite indulgences. We all love a good filet mignon, but that doesn’t mean we’re eating it every single day. Luann de Lesseps might not eat steak every day, but she sure does add that to her list of things she loves and wants to try when she is out and about, or when she’s feeling as if she’s been too healthy for too long.

She doesn’t care for childishness

If there is one thing that the Countess Luann de Lesseps does not care for in life, it’s childish behavior. Now, we have to call a moment of hypocritical judgement on this one because we’ve seen her at her most childish from time to time. We know, though, that she’s not perfect and she makes the same mistakes as the rest of us. What that means for the Countess is that she is sometimes childish, but she probably finds herself ashamed when that part of her personality shines through.

She believes she once had it all…

When she began starring on the Real Housewives franchise, the countess had it all. She had her kids, her count and lots of money. She was someone of great importance in her social circle and likely in other social circles. She knew that people loved her, feared her, wanted to be her and wanted to be around her, and she was so perfectly all right with that. However, sometimes life changes and she ended up divorced and her life was no longer perfect.

…but now she has more

Now that she’s about to be married, she is rethinking her life. Luann de Lesseps thought she had it all when she was the Countess and when she was able to live her life as someone who had it all, but now she really does feel that she has more of it all as she is able to really be with a man she loves and be a bit more of herself. If anything, we really have seen her come into her own over the course of the past few seasons, and that’s a good thing.
